Painter Pavle Gavura (36) showed how big his heart is even the day after he and his colleagues saved a girl (15) from a torch on Visokog Stevana Street in Dorcol.
At the beginning of the conversation, Pavle says that he has not yet managed to get in touch with the girl.
– I spoke with his father who called me to thank him. Thank him for that. See you in the next few days. I’m hoping she’ll call when she can, ”Pavle said.
The brave teacher said that he was not contacted by any of the authorities after the fire, and then showed once again how big his heart is.
– I would like to appeal to all who have a construction company to help, if they can, an account will be made for her mother and for her, it would be good if she returns to better conditions when she leaves the hospital – said Pavle.
The modest painter, he admits, doesn’t like the great media attention.
– I don’t feel like a hero. This would be done by anyone who was there at the time – Pavle said and once again appealed to the girl and her mother to fix the apartment.
Then he remembered the dramatic rescue operation.
– She was just screaming, “save me, I’m burning.” That’s all I heard. I was not afraid. Colleagues and I know how to breathe and we react instinctively. Support comes from everywhere, but turn those likes into money to help her, says Pavle.
We remind you that yesterday a large fire engulfed the apartment on the 10th floor of a residential building in Dorcol. The girl who was trapped in the apartment came out onto the terrace and started asking for help.
Painters who worked on the facade of the building, which is about fifty meters diagonally from there, were the first to come to his aid.
Pavle Gavura caught the girl from the terrace below and saved her that way. He was accompanied by four other companions who took the rope and tied Pavle so that he would not fall from the solitaire’s terrace and could catch her.
