Opposition representatives announced four objectives of the platform for inter-party dialogue under the auspices of the European Parliament, and those objectives are: free and secret expression of citizens in elections, prevention of misuse of state public resources for public purposes politicians, liberation of the media and establishment of expert bodies to control the elections.
The Democratic Party, the Movement for Change, the Free Citizens Movement, the Freedom and Justice Party, the Belgrade Do Not Drown Initiative and Together for Serbia are gathered around the platform that was presented.
The representative of the Do Not Drown Belgrade Initiative, Biljana Djordjevic, said that part of the opposition demands early elections at all levels, separation of elections and the obligation for the holder of the list to be on the list.
“I had Vučić, who is the head of the list in the local and republic elections, which creates a situation where the local elections are in the shadow of the republic elections and that destroys the development of democracy local, “Đorđević said.
The vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Borko Stefanovic, said that they are calling for the formation of a transitional body for holding elections, either a new ministry or a coordinating body with executive powers, which will serve to avoid pressure and blackmail to the voters. in Serbia. He was a nonpartisan person, an expert in the right to vote, elected on the proposal of opposition parties.
That body would have the authority not only to oversee the process, but to appoint commissioners in state institutions and companies where the state owns more than 50 percent, who would collect data on pressure and blackmail of employees and would analyze and present these anonymous reports in the media. The body would also be in charge of supervising work orders in relation to abuse of workers for political purposes.
Stefanović added that they are also looking for a parallel editorial program of the Serbian Radio-Television and Vojvodina Radio-Television newscast, so the Board of Directors will appoint a parallel editorial committee of the news program or editor-in-chief, show and newspaper.
He said that for this it is necessary to make a list of all public service programs, where a parallel editor would be introduced, and that new information programs should be introduced.
Free national frequency assignment, change of REM members …
The president of Together for Serbia, Nebojsa Zelenovic, said that they are requesting the allocation of a free national frequency to a television, change of members of the Electronic Media Regulatory Body, as well as requesting the distribution of other frequencies from 2022 according to the agreement. on the allocation of a free frequency.
The president of the Movement for Change, Janko Veselinović, estimated that it would take three months to establish what was agreed in the dialogue: establish an oversight body, appoint commissioners and set up parallel editorial offices, and then six to nine months to implement it. to the election process. of choice.
Biljana Djordjevic added that they are calling for a moratorium on constitutional changes, because the new assembly does not have the legitimacy to continue that process.
DS Vice President Dragana Rakić hopes that in the next period, the opposition will come to a single platform behind which everyone will stand, and Veselinović said the platform is open for improvement.
Asked if there is a possibility that the opposition will harmonize and offer a platform, because yesterday the other part of the opposition presented its platform, Djordjevic said that there is a difference in approach, but that – if there is a will – an agreement will be reached. on many subjects.
Veselinović stated that they sent the proposal of the first platform to everyone and that they reached out to all those who responded, emphasizing that it was for discussion, but not through the media.
