The new rules on working hours, which are in effect Tuesday, have caused a great deal of confusion among vendors in business facilities outside of shopping malls and artisans.

Many, guided by the new rules, closed their stores at 6 p.m. However, based on the Decree on Measures for the Prevention and Suppression of Infectious Diseases, the new decisions on working hours until 6 p.m. apply only to catering establishments, shopping centers and betting houses.

Do you visit the malls as much as before?

The new rules do not include stores that are not located within large shopping centers and kiosks, which are recommended to operate until 9 p.m. Until now, customers can be greeted even by shopping centers where stores are entered from outside, and not from the central building. These measures do not include catering facilities that deliver food, bakeries that have counters for sale, as well as gyms.

– All the stores that are not located in shopping centers, such as the boutiques on Knez Mihailova Street or King Alexander Boulevard, the hairdressers in the settlement, but also many artisans, will be able to work as before the previous decision until 9 pm All those facilities where it is physically possible to limit the number of people inside the facility with the mandatory use of protective masks, they can work until 9:00 p.m. – explains Darko Glavas, Secretary of Defense, Emergency Situations, Communication and Coordination of Relations with Citizens of the City of Belgrade.

He adds that the supermarkets that are part of the shopping centers can carry out their activities only if they have a separate entrance to their facilities, that is, the entrance that directly enters the supermarket, without wandering through the shopping center. For theaters and cinemas, more precisely cultural institutions, the work regime is also valid until 6 in the afternoon, which means that the last projection or representation must be finished by that time.

According to the previous decision of the crisis headquarters, after 9 pm pharmacies will also be able to operate, as well as gas stations exclusively for the sale of fuel, as well as catering facilities that distribute food.
