The ombudsman initiated the control of the Ministry of Labor for the confiscation of the minor

BELGRADE – Due to the confiscation of a five-year-old boy from his parents due to poverty, the Protector of Citizens Zoran Pasalic today initiated the procedures to control the work of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs.

The statement states that the Ombudsman learned of this according to media reports that the Mali Crnić Social Work Center, near Požarevac, with the help of the police and in the presence of a judge, took the child to parents because of their poverty.

The Protector of Citizens asked the Ministry to submit a report on the procedure in that case and a register and other documents on the supervision of the work of the Center for Social Work Malo Crniće within 15 days.

The protector asks the center to inform him within the same period, together with the documentation, about the work with that family and about the confiscation of the minor, it is stated in the announcement.
