Dr. Srđa: The curfew is not an option, but a contact prevention
A member of the Crisis Staff, immunologist Srdja Jankovic, said today that a higher number of deaths could have been expected, following the increase in the number of infected, and reiterated that for now no measure has been proposed or considered to ban movement and curfew. “If we achieve a reduction in contacts, then a movement ban is not necessary. Contacts are key,” Jankovic told Prva TV.
According to him, the curve continues to grow, but to stop that growth it is up to everyone to respect the measures, especially the use of masks, which he says will protect 99 percent if everyone uses them. As he said, reducing the working day is important, because at night there was a greater risk of the virus being transmitted more, but the essence is not only in shortening the working day, but also in respecting the measures.
According to him, most did not take this measure seriously, adding that the state, citizens and people who work in medicine must work together to suppress the epidemic. Speaking about the upcoming holidays, he said that he was not optimistic that the situation would be such for the New Year and Christmas that travel and meetings would be possible.
