The number of new infections is decreasing: the effects of the measures are visible, but caution is necessary

Official data say that in December, more than 4,000 people from Kraljevo were infected with the corona virus, and in that period, 56 inhabitants of that city sadly lost the battle with the covid.

If you look at the official numbers, you could say that the last ten days are improving. The number of confirmed cases dropped from 273 on December 9 to less than 150. There were around 120 confirmed cases a day over the weekend, but we know there are declines on weekends, so we must wait for the results of today.

However, that drop in the number of infected has not yet alleviated the Kovid hospital in Kraljevo.

Yesterday’s report says that 107 patients were treated there and 10 of them were in intensive care. All the patients, as the director of the Kraljevo hospital said, have a moderate to severe clinical picture and all require oxygen support.

They no longer have vacancies where oxygen therapy can be obtained, so patients whose condition has improved and who are about to be discharged are sent to the special hospitals Agens in Mataruška Banja and Merkur in Vrnjačka Banja.

“There is still a higher number of admissions than discharges, we are standing, so to speak, instead. We hope that this drop in new infections reflects the drop in patients admitted to hospital,” says Zoran Mrvić, in functions. Director of the General Hospital “Studenica” Kraljevo.

What we do know, he says, is that people were so disciplined and responsible during the celebration of San Nicolás, that is why we think that there will be no increase in contagion, but I am not sure about this entry of our fellow citizens on the other side of the border, We will see it in three or four days.

A big problem in Kraljevo was the crowds in front of the ambulance at Kovid hospital. Patients said they were unable to get to the line for lung examination and registration for days, and there are those who took the line in front of the hospital at night, a few hours before the clinic opened.

The problem is that covid patients can get images of their lungs in one place, in the covid hospital building. There are two more devices in the polyclinic and in the surgical block, but they could not be used because they are in the green zone.

We asked the hospital director if it was possible to put a device in the Kovid ambulance of the health center and record the lungs and working laboratories there, as is the case in some other cities. He replied that this was not legally possible because, as he said, the law does not allow Health Centers close to general hospitals to carry out such examinations and analyzes.

“Eight teams are working. That X-ray machine is working and doing a great job, and thank goodness it hasn’t broken down for now. The information system knew how to fail, so there were crowds and a couple of longer waits. times. Three pulmonologists are reading. and five radiologists are reading the images, so it is not at all up to the framing and all, “says Zoran Mrvić, acting. Director of the General Hospital “Studenica”

He asked citizens for patience and added that patients who were not examined today have an advantage the next day.

That the situation is better in the King’s show and the data from the Health Center. The number of exams at the Kovid clinic, where patients first go when they show symptoms, has been declining since December 17, and from about 400 daily exams at the peak, the number has dropped to about 250, as many people reported there this weekend.
