An emergency meeting of crisis personnel in the fight against coronavirus will be held tomorrow at nine o’clock, and epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon says that the main reason for this is the increase in the number of COVID-19 just recently. infected.
– The number of new infected is worrying and we will have to meet tomorrow and talk about everything. It is clear that control must be strengthened, not because of citizen sanctions, but to involve all parts of the institution. If they have formed a good monitoring system in schools, so that there is no transmission, then it is also feasible for others – said Dr. Kon for “Pink” TV, emphasizing that it is important that everyone gets involved in the fight against the virus crown.
Kon said that it is important to find a mechanism to respect the mandatory, but as he adds, it is also important to respect the recommendations of the experts.
“Other restrictions should not be excluded, and that is not impossible, but they are not yet an option,” Kon said.
The introduction of mandatory negative PCR tests for all those entering Serbia is safe, and this time, says Kon, there will be no exceptions.
– It already exists as a measure, it should start to apply to all countries. It will be both for our citizens and for foreigners. Here we have to tighten the surveillance and control situation at the borders. It’s not acceptable to keep the border open like this – said Kon.
On more radical measures, and the possible closure of Belgrade, Kon assures that the capital is one of the cities that has a more serious situation with the newly infected, but that there is still no need for them to be more serious.
– Definitely, the number of new infected is growing throughout Serbia, Kragujevac and Valjevo are also risky together with Belgrade. Only where Vojvodina seems to be relatively stable. All of these will be topics at tomorrow’s meeting. It is important that we have a stable situation in the hospitals, the determination is to preserve the non-covid hospitals for as long as possible – said Dr. Kon.
