The new symptom of LONG KOVID affects ONLY WOMEN and it looks like this: Doctors still do not have an explanation

Chronic fatigue, shortness of breath, headache, are just some of the common symptoms of long kovid. Now, as The Sun reports, there is another feature, for women only.

Some women report having irregular cycles and unusually large blood clots after coexisting.

A woman named Rose tells Medical News Today that in the eight months since her covid infection, she has only had five cycles. Another woman, named Bianca, testified that she faced unusually large blood clots, which they had not had before.

A woman named Edith says the following: “My period is completely different after kovid. My timing, duration and intensity, and pain levels are completely altered. Now everything is unpredictable.”

Doctors still have no explanation for the changes in the cycle, but assume that the virus, being systemic, somehow also attacks the female reproductive organs.

Dr. Linda Fen, an assistant professor of gynecology at Yale, says science has not yet addressed this problem in detail, but she also says there is a “biological possibility” that the virus could attack the ovaries.

A small study conducted in China and published in the journal Reproductive BioMedicine Online, showed that 25 percent of kovid patients experienced cycle changes after that. Of the 117 participants, all of whom were patients at Tongji Hospital in Shanghai, 30 percent of them reported that their cycle after kovida was heavier or less abundant than usual.

– It is not uncommon for viral infections to leave traces on female hormones, menstruation and fertility – says gynecologist Dr. Sri Data, adding that science has not yet addressed in detail the impact of kovid on women’s health and that no studies have yet been conducted in this regard

– The most obvious answer is that this disease is very stressful for general health and that in such situations the body stops all functions that are not crucial for survival. So when the body is focused on sheer survival, it doesn’t waste energy on hormones, says this doctor.
