The new rail schedule came into force in Serbia and throughout Europe

As of today, a new railway schedule has begun to be applied on the lines of the “Serbian Railway Infrastructure”, which will be valid for next year. At midnight, at the time of its entry into force, there were nine passenger trains and 22 freight trains on the Serbian railways, and the change in the organization of traffic was successful and smooth.

The “Serbian Railway Infrastructure” directorate visited several railway crossings and stations in Serbia during the afternoon and evening, to make sure everything is ready for the transition to the new schedule, the company announced. RTS emissions.

Traditionally, when presenting a report at midnight on the traffic situation on the Serbian railways, the transition to the new schedule was symbolically marked.

The first trains to start passenger traffic according to the new schedule are BG Voz, which left Belgrade Center for Mladenovac at 3.45 am, and the train that left Belgrade Center for Nis at 4.10 am.

According to the new schedule, one carrier in passenger traffic “Srbija Voz” and twelve operators in rail freight transport (“Srbija Cargo” as state carriers and eleven private carriers) will operate on Serbian railways.

On the new schedule, major works to modernize the railway infrastructure in Serbia continue, from the construction of the high-speed railway, through the renovation of Corridor 10, to the reconstruction of regional railways throughout the country.

In accordance with that, the organization of rail passenger and freight traffic in Serbia was done next year.

As of today, according to the new timetable, 322 passenger trains operate on Serbian railways, of which 22 are international (of which currently only one night train operates between Topčider and Bar due to the Kovid pandemic), 193 in national traffic and 107 BG trains.

According to the new timetable, 130 regular trains and 278 optional trains are planned for international transport in freight rail traffic, while 61 regular trains and 910 optional trains are planned for domestic traffic, which will run as needed next year.

The expert services of the “Serbian Railway Infrastructure” have planned a total of 2,657 train routes for the needs of passenger and freight rail traffic in Serbia over the next year.
