The new MINIMALAC will have a maximum of 32,100 dinars, and here is how many people actually RECEIVE it

Unlike last year, when workers received a higher minimum wage increase than they expected, the new government’s proposal for the minimum wage for next year did not exactly match the union’s expectations. The proposed growth of four to six percent, which would mean an increase in the range of 1,200 to 1,800 dinars to the current low of 30,300 dinars, is unacceptable, and one of the reasons, they say, is the fact that one number at a time Most people accept it.

“Until the beginning of the coronation of the crisis and its impact on the Serbian economy, the figure of 350,000 workers was sought. Today, the minimum wage receives at least 100,000 more people, and by the end of the year that figure could be even higher” said Zoran Mihajlovic, secretary, to Blic Biznis. Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia.

Minimum by age

It is true that in recent months, more and more companies send workers on low pay due to lack of work, more frequently in activities such as tourism and restaurants. For all of them, the employer used to reduce the wage to the minimum, which was also the practice in many other sectors.

“That may be one of the reasons to increase the number of workers to a minimum. However, the fact is that employment has grown in recent months and that employers, due to state support, have mostly transferred workers from the gray area to legal flows. Certainly there were those who received the minimum wage, “says our source from Nemanjina 11.

The government came out with the position that the minimum for next year should be four to six percent higher, guided by the fact that the economy was under external pressure and that the world economy is in crisis.

Representatives of the Union of Employers (UPS) said at the same time that they are willing to commit to the issue of the minimum in 2021, but so that this growth does not endanger the business of companies in Serbia.

The honorary president of the Nebojsa Atanackovic Union says that such a proposal from the State fully agrees with what is proposed by the Employers’ Union, taking into account that the real situation of the economy must be considered and, on the other hand, the material situation must be improved from the workers.

“We are satisfied with the attitude of the Ministry of Finance, which has shown stability. It is important that the increase is not above what the economy can handle at the moment. The range of four to six percent is optimism and it will be good to increase both wages. ” Atanackovic told Tanjug.

The Employers ‘Union states that the union representatives began negotiations with a request to increase the minimum price of labor to 37,000 dinars, which is unacceptable from the employers’ point of view.

The unions had two more proposals: that the new minimum be 35,000 dinars and 34,000, which would be their, as they say, lower limit.

SSSS’s Dusko Vukovic says to Tanjug that the proposal to increase the minimum price of labor from four to six percent is unacceptable to the union and that they are still in the position that it must follow the price of the minimum consumption basket .

“Thus, the policy of cheap labor would continue to be replicated, and neither unions nor workers who receive the minimum wage can be satisfied with such a small increase in the minimum wage,” said Vukovic.
