BELGRADE – Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić said today that the new measures depend on the decision of the crisis staff, and that the city’s position is such that all possible new measures must be harmonized with the economic interests of the city and the state.
According to Vesić, there is a need to strengthen enforcement of existing measures, and before existing measures are completely exhausted, new ones should not be adopted.
The current situation, he says, is such that the existing measures are not respected, that is to say, that certain clubs hold parties after 11 at night and that festivities are organized.
“It is something that we have to control, but unfortunately, we cannot do without changing the law and until the Communal Militia and other inspectors have the authority to control,” he told Studio B and recalled that under the current law, only sanitary inspectors they can impose sanctions for non-compliance with health regulations, and they are not enough, considering that there are only 140 for the entire territory of Serbia.
Vesić says that he does not know why the prosecution does not get involved, because under the penal code, the deliberate spread of infectious diseases during an epidemic is a crime.
“For me, the organizer of the celebration on a raft that navigates the river after 11 at night is criminally responsible. That is why it is necessary to tighten the control of compliance with the measures because there is no need to sanction the 99 percent of the catering companies that respect the measures for those that do not “. “Five percent of those who don’t wear masks,” he said.
Let us not propose measures that we cannot implement and that are not economically justified, ”Vesić said, adding that 40,000 people work in restoration.
Belgrade’s position, it says, is that all measures must be fully respected.
“The change in the law also serves that purpose. Belgrade proposed that change, the government adopted it and it should be in the Assembly. That will allow us to fight offenders more efficiently,” Vesić said.
Vesić says that the children who are on the raft an hour after midnight are not responsible, but the organizer and the one who announces it on the social network.
Any new measure must be harmonized with the economic interest of the city and the country, he said, adding that this is the position of the City and he does not know how the Crisis Staff will decide.
He said that in the world and in our country, a very small number of children under the age of 12 are infected with the corona virus, and that kindergartens and schools should work.
“All the rules are respected in those institutions. Rigorous rules have been introduced in kindergartens, since May, and they all follow. We have fewer children in kindergartens, so I don’t see the need to change anything.”
He said he was asking the authorities to take care that if the economy does not work, they will have nothing to pay their salaries and to buy protective equipment.
