The Museum of Serbian History moves to the old train station

The Government of Serbia has concluded that the Museum of Serbian History will be relocated to the building of the old main train station in Belgrade’s Sava Square, which is itself a cultural monument of great importance.

Until now, the Museum of History was located in three locations, which made it difficult to operate and care for the cultural and historical heritage, and after moving, all employees of the museum, warehouse, library, workshops, exhibition space and gallery will be in a single place.

By moving to a new facility, this museum will have the opportunity to carry out its activities properly, announced the Government of Serbia.

Remember The main train station was closed in 2018 due to the construction of the “Belgrade on water” project. Has been ever since restored facade of the old station, and the reconstruction of Sava square, where it is located, is in progress a monument was erected to the great prefect Stefan Nemanja.

After the closure of the main train station, it was publicly mentioned that the facility become the Nikola Tesla Museum, and then the Museum of Medieval Serbia.
