On Sunday morning, a patient died at the clinic of the Department of Infectious Diseases in Kraljevo while waiting for an examination, “Blic” learns.
As we learned, the man died in the hallway of the waiting room while waiting for an exam.
– The man just fell. The doctors took him in immediately, but there was no way out. I am very afraid. The situation is very difficult – says one of the patients.
Zoran Mrvić, director of the Kraljevo General Hospital, told “Blic” that the patient was admitted as soon as the ambulance started operating.
– He came with a very difficult clinical picture. The doctor could not save him. The biggest problem is that patients are late. We have asked many times not to wait, but to go immediately to an exam. That is why we are carrying out a greater number of checks, to register deteriorations in time – says Mrvić.
The director of the Kraljevo hospital points out that people do not die from waiting in the ambulance, but from deteriorating health due to coronavirus infection.
– All patients are examined and those emergencies and priority cases are received through the line. A few days ago, they brought a woman from Vrnjačka Banja who was not breathing. Resuscitation was performed, but without success. On Saturday, we had 131 examinations in the hospital, and on Friday up to 200. Eight medical teams work until 10 pm – said Zoran Mrvić.
The situation with the coronavirus epidemic is becoming increasingly difficult in the Kraljevo territory. Approximately 600 people undergo daily tests and the number of examinations in both kovid clinics is constantly around 500. About 115 patients are hospitalized in the hospital and all have a severe clinical picture.
