Let’s say that Zdravko Milankov from Zrenjanin, in the house in Stajićevo, which he recently bought, waved a lighter next to the tap from which the water was flowing, and suddenly a flame appeared. To the horror of the hosts, the water began to burn. He recorded everything and his post appeared on social media.

However, all this did not particularly bother city waterworks officials, who claim that the presence of methane is characteristic of the Banat plain and that there has always been methane in the well water.

– This is not a unique case, it has happened before in Beli Blato and some other towns, there is simply methane from the ground in the pipes and that is why it is important that the town have a water tower. – Zrenjanin’s JKP experts say “Vodovod i kanalizacija”, noting that the problem of the presence of methane has existed since then and the water supply system in populated areas south of Zrenjanin.

They explain that this problem is solved by building a water tower or tank on the ground floor, and when methane is found in the water, it is necessary to regularly ventilate the premises, because methane is lighter than air.

The composition of the land south of Zrenjanin is such that it contains the presence of a large amount of gases, including metam, which is flammable, and when present in larger quantities, it can cause an explosion, which used to occur in this area, and now as they claim in Vodovod, there are none, and most of the locals are familiar with this problem.

Zdravko Milankov from Zrenjanin, who recently bought a house in the village of Stajićevo, near Zrenjanin, tried on Monday, October 5, a surprising and unusual experiment for him, to light a water in the bathroom with a lighter and after the flames were convinced of the truth of the stories that have circulated for a long time. In the town that in the tap water flows water with an easily flammable ingredient, apparently gas, that is, methane, and shared the video on social networks.

– The story has circulated in this town for a long time, where my girlfriend is from and where I bought a house, that the water is enriched with a strange liquid that tastes like gas and is flammable. – says Zdravko, noting that he knows for a fact that two machines caught fire in the village and that the woman ended up in the hospital for burns after she tried to repair the washing machine and when the spark came into contact with the water, it caught fire.

– I’m a little scared and that’s why I decided to share the video – adds Zdravko.
