He also claimed that Nika Banja will become a kovid hospital.
According to him, the police ace is not an arobial solution and that was not the topic of today’s session of the Crisis Tab. “Breaking contacts is the only way to reduce the numbers,” Lonar added.
At the press conference on the occasion of the European donation of protective equipment and ambulances, Lonar said that in the Crisis tab session a cross section of the epidemic was made and a proposal for new measures was determined, but could not announce them, because “the doctors of the Crisis tab on paper” and consult with lawyers to see if the measures are in accordance with the law.
“The fact is that these figures that we have today are a consequence of the failure to comply with the measures. Regardless of the measures that are taken, it takes between seven and ten days to see the result,” Lonar said.
He said that the police ace is not a “magic solution” and stressed that it is necessary for citizens to understand that its implementation is necessary, if they do not understand beforehand that it is necessary to cut contacts.
He said that the capacities of the Belgrade hospitals had been fully used and that two wards of the Serbian Clinical Center had been introduced into the covid system.
“We are at the stage where the virus has entered the family, and that is a greater risk than we had in the previous period. And this can only be prevented by breaking contact. There is no other way,” he said.
When asked if private healthcare would be involved in the fight against the epidemic, Lonar replied that everyone was welcome and that anyone who wanted to participate in the fight was known. Speaking of seasonal flu vaccines, Lonar said there were enough and announced the purchase of 200,000 doses in the “next few days.”
