Forecast until Christmas

The precipitation zone will bring rain to areas below 1000 m above sea level, while there will be sleet or wet snow conditions above 1000 m above sea level. Until Thursday, we remain under the influence of warm southern weather in the eastern (warm) sector of a strong cyclone over Britain. It will be relatively warm with variable cloud cover and occasional rains in the lower reaches and snow in areas above 1000 m above sea level.

There may be occasional thunderstorms along the Adriatic and in southern Herzegovina. Moderate to strong south wind, but nothing as strong as this day. The daily maximum is significantly above average and should range between 7 and 15 degrees Celsius, and in extreme eastern Serbia with gloomy weather around 5 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, December 31, the crossing of the cold front from the northwest is expected, with the formation of a weak cyclonic center over the Adriatic.

This should bring a somewhat stronger deterioration from overnight to Wednesday through January 1, with longer, concrete rains, and with the cold front advancing towards us, somewhat colder air would penetrate and on the last day, December 31, the snow line would drop to about 700 m. , and at night, maybe even lower, so there is a theoretical probability that if the precipitation lasts, the lowland parts of the region will have transient snowfall by 2021, but everything is still very questionable, you can easily there is no snow, and as much as accumulation is not expected in areas below 600 m above sea level.

There are a few more days until the change, so we won’t know the details until around Wednesday. On this day, the wind is turning in a northwesterly direction, and the daily maximum is from 3 in the northwest to about 10 in the southeast of the region.

After this temporary cooling, the beginning of January will most likely bring back relatively warm weather with occasional rain and snow in the mountainous areas. The wind from the south and southeast will start again, while the daily highs would generally range between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius.

Around January 8, there is still a signal for a change in the weather forecast, which could bring us more concrete cooling with sustainable snow in the region’s lowlands. For now, much of the forecasting material in both the GFS and ECMWF models goes in that direction.

In short, we are facing a changing schedule, later than winter, and the new winter announcement is still after January 8.
