As a growing number of new cases and deaths from the consequences of the corona virus are recorded in Serbia, as the darkest day since the beginning of the kovid-19 epidemic in our country has been left behind, the introduction of new epidemiological measures it is being considered more seriously. after the break, a crisis staff session will be held.

As we learned off the record, the first and foremost topic could be cafes and clubs. A stricter measure, when it comes to catering facilities, would be the total closure, which is also opposed by the leaders of the city of Belgrade, while a softer and safer variant is to shorten their working hours to 20 or 21 hours.

Yesterday, the Mayor of Belgrade, Dr. Zoran Radojicic, emphasized that it was time for new measures.

– It is time to strengthen the controls and strengthen the measures, I think now is the time to introduce new measures, to set them in a certain period, to monitor the results and adjust to that – said Mayor Radojicic.

He added that he hopes responsible measures will be taken at the Krza headquarters session, and reiterated that the city of Belgrade is ready to implement the measures that have been taken as before.

Radojicic pointed out that public transport is one of the points that carries its risks to all parts of the world, but that it is not crucial.

– Of course, transport must work and most citizens wear masks. The reform of the Law for the Protection of the Population against Infectious Diseases will increase the number of competent persons who will have the opportunity and the right to control and sanction. I hope that these measures will further affect the public transport situation and thus reduce the small number of people who do not wear masks in public transport vehicles. But public transport is not a key point when transmitting the virus, but parties, discos, places where more time is spent indoors without a mask – said Radojicic, adding that we must all give our contribution and act responsibly.

We remind you that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke for the first time about the crisis staff session and the new measures on Saturday.

– With the decision on the possible shortening of the working hours of the catering facilities, or their closure, we will wait two or three days – said Vučić.

In addition, epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon announced that in the crisis staff session, it will be discussed that winter break will be at the same time for students from Vojvodina and central Serbia. Although this was not an option in the previous days, it is not ruled out that the extension of the autumn school holidays, which is in progress, can be considered to cut the important spread of the coronavirus in educational institutions.

In addition, the measure to which some local governments, such as Novi Sad, resort to the closure of swimming pools, spas and wellness centers, could be recommended for implementation throughout the country.

Finally, epidemiologists do not hide that they have not renounced the mandatory use of the mask in the open air, but on all occasions.
