The Government of Serbia approved the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Protection of the Population against Infectious Diseases because it was evaluated that “it is necessary to guarantee strict compliance with the measures to protect the health and life of citizens, preserve the health system and the economy “.

As announced, “the reforms to the Law contemplate the introduction of personal protection measures and greater responsibility of the citizens, for whose implementation, in addition to the sanitary inspection, the communal inspection and the communal militia are responsible, both natural persons and legal ”.

The amount of fines for not wearing masks indoors and disrespecting physical distance – 5,000 dinars for individuals and 50,000 to 300,000 for legal entities – will remain unchanged, “but their application will be faster and more efficient,” said the government in a statement.

At the session, a decision was made to pay a one-time financial aid of 10,000 dinars from the Health Institution Network Plan to the employees of the health institutions.

The government also decided to award Jelena Karakašević the National Sports Award for the silver medal she won at the World Handball Championship in Belgrade in 2013.
