The first gas deliveries should begin on January 1 of next year. This will make it possible to completely stop the transit of gas to Serbia through Ukraine.

In the next phase, gas from the “Turkish stream” should reach Hungary and later Austria.

Will Russian gas contribute to economic progress?

Earlier, the Bulgarian company “Bulgartransgas” confirmed that gas filling will start before January.

Daily gas deliveries can reach 15 million cubic meters.

It should be recalled that during last week’s visit to Belgrade by the head of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that the Serbian part of the gas pipeline would be opened on December 30.

The “Turkish Stream” gas pipeline, which began operating on January 8, was installed at the bottom of the Black Sea from Russia to the Turkish coast. The overland transit branch continues to the border with neighboring countries, from where gas is already being exported to Greece, Bulgaria and North Macedonia. In the future (once the construction of the entire infrastructure is completed), the gas will go to Serbia and Hungary. The capacity of the 930 km long gas pipeline is 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
