The newly elected chairmen of the New Party and the Free Citizens Movement, Aris Movsesijan and Pavle Grbović, announced that the unification of the two political options had formally begun.

Movsesian told reporters in front of the House of the Serbian National Assembly in Belgrade that there is currently a “trend” in party politics in Serbia, and that Nova and PSG have decided to reverse that trend.

He claimed that talks on unification were ongoing, but that they wanted “symbolically on October 5”, when Slobodan Milosevic’s government was changed, to announce the official start of unification.

Speaking about the name of the future match, Grbović said that it was a technical question, but also a marketing question, which will be discussed later.

“Neither Aris nor I are experts in marketing, so we will leave that question to those who are experts,” he said, adding that the name should be devised and then tested.

The leaders agreed that they would advocate for the purge and that nothing prevents them from doing so.

Speaking of the next meeting of opposition parties to be organized by PSG, Grbović said that it will be closed to the public at the end of this week, so that the conversation is more constructive and the leaders focus less on statements to the media.

According to him, the statement for journalists will be “when necessary.”
