“Mass vaccination is expected in the first half of the year,” said Health Ministry Secretary of State Mirsad Djerlek, adding that sporadic cases of infection will continue.

According to Djerlek, medical workers, the police and the army will be the first three categories of the population to start mass vaccination.

“We must be careful with the prognosis, but after the second dose of the vaccine, we can say that we are safe,” said Djerlek.

He explained that 20 doses of the Sputnik vaccine arrived yesterday, and that citizens will not be allowed to receive the vaccine without ALIMS approval. He reiterated once again that vaccines will be free vaccines despite the difficult economic situation.

– We hope that ALIMS gives a positive or negative opinion. They will do everything possible to issue an opinion before the legal deadline of 4 months, but not to the detriment of citizens – he said.

Speaking about the Pfizer vaccine, Djerlek said there would be three shifts to check vaccines.

– The president said 1,800,000 by the end of next year, and that a small dose will arrive by the end of the year – he pointed out and repeated once again that the Drug Agency is waiting, and that if they do not give a positive answer, we will have nothing .

Sherlek stated that crisis personnel function in such a way that everyone has a voice.

– I appreciate that opinion of Professors Tidorović and Kon and they have shown that they do their job in the best way. When deciding, all members of the Crisis Staff decide – he stated when answering the question that the measures were late.

Difficult situation in Vojvodina

“Up to 422 patients were hospitalized at KC Vojvodina, and I must mention that a large number of patients who were hospitalized belong to the difficult clinical picture and are on oxygen support,” said KC Vojvodina director Edita Stokić, who added that the Fair now it is part of Kovid. system in Novi Sad.

He noted that KCV, despite the large number of sick health workers, still manages to supply all patients.

Due to the increasing number of crowns infected with the virus, the Crisis Staff proposed new measures, which were adopted yesterday by the Government, and which are effective as of today. They mainly refer to the reduction in working hours of almost all facilities in Serbia, which will be closed after 5pm on Friday.

With the new measures, almost no sector is not included. This time too, the focus was on catering facilities and for the first time many other service activities were included in the package.

The delay of the measures will cost us a lot, said a member of the crisis staff, Branislav Tidorović today, adding that he is particularly concerned that now we have an outbreak of the epidemic also outside of Belgrade.

Tiodorović pointed out that next week will be difficult due to the crowds that happened in the malls on “Black Friday”.

– Until seven or eight days ago we did not have people dying in the hospitals of Leskovac, Vranje, now we do and it is a very difficult situation that will contribute to the fact that if these measures are not really respected until the end with an iron discipline we will not be able to achieve the right situation that would allow us to be calm and controlled – explains Tiodorović.
