The temperature will vary slightly, and after rainy, cold, and sometimes snowy fall days, the mercury on the thermometer will rise to the 20th division next week. At the beginning of the week, the first snowfall this season fell in Serbia, in Tara, Zlatar, the surroundings of Prijepolje and Nova Varoš, but it was short-lived. According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic (RHMZ), the capital will not be registered in the next month. However, the RHMZ monthly forecast indicates that there will be snow in the first half of November in Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Nis.

When it comes to our largest mountains, Kopaonik and Zlatibor, the first snowflakes are expected this weekend! Then there will be a break until the end of October and during the first half of November, when the snow will fall with more intensity on these mountains. Unlike last year, when there was almost no snow, meteorologists agree that current statistics indicate that a harsher winter with more snow could surprise us this year.

The days ahead will bring us temperatures slightly above average, then slightly below average, but without large swings over time, says meteorologist Djordje Djuric. Meteorologist Đurić points out that a little cooler weather awaits us for the weekend, but according to the calendar: a true autumn.

– There may be light rain on Saturday, while Sunday will be dry. Temperatures will be a few degrees lower than Friday, which would mean around 12-13 degrees for Belgrade, while in the south it will be a little warmer, around 15-17 degrees, Đurić says.

He adds that in the higher mountains there may be conditions for light snow, but without a real winter setting.

It hasn’t snowed yet in Belgrade

According to the monthly forecast of the Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic, there will be no snow until mid-November. Meteorologist Djordje Djuric says decades of experience have shown that November 23 is the middle date when the first snow falls in Belgrade.

– However, last winter we had a situation where the first snowfall in the capital only fell at the end of January. On the other hand, it used to fall in late October and early November, Đurić recalls.

– A word about snow in a softer way, as we had the opportunity to see earlier this week that the snow did not stay where it fell. There are no low temperatures and therefore the precipitation is weak. So there’s no real snow in sight, he notes. The first days of the following week are dry.

– With the fact that the morning will be cold, and in some places the temperature may approach zero, and a weak frost on the ground is also possible. It will be mostly sunny during the day, but not too warm. So, according to the calendar, about fifteen degrees, says the meteorologist.

As it says, in the continuation of the week, there will be a slight increase in temperature, so in some places it could reach the 20th division.

– As we approach the end of the week, there will be conditions of precipitation and rain. This is followed by a drop in temperatures to normal fall values by the end of October, Đurić concludes.

RHMZ’s seasonal forecast says there will also be slightly warmer days in November. December and January are expected to be milder and somewhat drier than average, while moderate frosts are announced for the third decade of January.
