What is the problem with the information system, so as Kon explained, there was a difference in the official data and what the reports from the field show, has not been clarified. But what nobody in the world definitely disputes is that all kovid records are quite indicative. The same registration methodology does not apply in all countries.
And Dr. Cohn, who says there is a problem with the data on co-life 19 mortality in a computer program, points to that fact:
“Just so you know, it happens in all epidemics,” Kon emphasized. – We are using an information system for the first time. It wasn’t accurate enough at one point and I can’t say why, so since mid-June it wasn’t accurate.
What is published directly and what is in the information system is one thing, Kon said, and an excerpt from the written system is another.
– I transfer the responsibility to the computer scientists who gave us data that was not entirely accurate – Kon said. – I affirm, under full moral responsibility, that the Crisis Staff in the medical part could not have other data than those it received from the IT department. At the time the data was suspected, and that was in June, it was clear that the information system was seriously failing, and that was warned.
Using statistics and data from the Belgrade Institute of Public Health, Kon found 210 deaths from March to June, citing 19 as the immediate or primary cause of death, and 118 of those cases were officially reported.
– In addition, I found 29 deaths in the same period from viral pneumonia and excess mortality, in 102 cases from unmarked pneumonia, therefore not bacterial – said Dr. Kon. – We cannot say that those 102 deaths were from kovid, but a significant number did.
Kon explains that the data we see now on the covid.rs site is very approximate and very accurate.
Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar says that the data presented by epidemiologist Predrag Kon on kovida 19 mortality is not definitive:
– An audit has not yet been carried out and they need to be checked – Lončar said. – Kon explained that there was data that did not enter the system, but that everything they knew was communicated. Only an autopsy can confirm what someone died of, and no patients were performed when they were suspected of dying from covid.
ADDITIONAL MEASURES, IF NECESSARY
Minister Lončar appealed to all health institutions to inform the local crisis headquarters if the number of tests or positive patients increases, which will take additional measures:
– We can’t fall asleep. I will not tolerate a growing number without further action being taken for that area. This is the only way we can keep the situation under control.
