The Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine is still being tested at ALIMS, where 20 vials are being tested and approval is eagerly awaited, because announcements have come from Moscow that Serbian “Torlak” could produce that Russian vaccine in a few months. Now, a “light” variant of “satellite V” has appeared, which is actually the first component of that vaccine. The director of the “Gamaleja” center, Aleksandar Ginzburg, said that after the “light” vaccine, the immunity will last three or four months, the efficiency is around 85% and for the elderly even less. He stated that three months after being vaccinated with the “light” vaccine, the patient can also receive another component of the “Sputnik V” vaccine. Zoran Gojković stated that ALIMS is evaluating “Sputnik V” and that if it is judged to be good for us, the competent bodies and experts in Serbia will also analyze this “light” vaccine.
As soon as the dust was raised and the pressure from the two countries intensified, Ana Pisonero, spokesperson for the enlargement of the European Commission (EC), said that “the EC is working with member states to coordinate donations of vaccines that they will be delivered to the Western Balkans before the first deliveries of the Kovaks mechanism. “
He claimed that the EU and Kovaks donations are two different systems, which the Commission will provide the Western Balkan countries with additional funds for the purchase of vaccines, but cannot confirm the exact dose figures.

Based on the revised documentation, the Serbian Agency for Medicines and Health Products (ALIMS) gave its consent for the importation of the vaccine produced by “Pfizer-Bayontek”, and the Minister of Health, Zlatibor Loncar, stated that the first doses arrive in Serbia on Monday or Tuesday. In the first section, slightly less than 5,000 doses will arrive, and they will be received by the users of the residences. Zoran Gojkovic, the provincial health secretary, said the vaccine should also be analyzed in ALMIS, to compare the results with the documentation. – Another 5,000 should be delivered before the end of the year. Serbia is one of the first five countries in the world to sign an agreement with “Pfizer”, which is extremely important – said Gojković.
According to some complaints, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelji, promised about 70 million euros of aid to the region for vaccines. It was Varhelji who spoke to Western Balkan ministers yesterday about vaccines, so he said on Twitter that “they are working to make vaccines available to Western Balkan countries when distribution in the EU begins.”

Isidora Stanković, a biomedical sciences doctoral student in New York, said on Facebook that the “Pfizer” vaccine is “so natural and organic that you can make your grandmother’s cake with it.”
Then the head of the EU delegation in Serbia, Sam Fabrizi, spoke and said that “a lot of work is being done to get the vaccines to Serbia as soon as possible.” EC President Ursula von der Layen has already said that vaccination in the EU will likely start on December 27, when the “Pfizer” vaccine is approved.
