Although lately there have been more and more demands that the revaccinated be given the opportunity to return to a normal life, to go to cafes, games, to the theater, virologist Dr. Ana Gligić tells Kurir that it is still early For that!

– Measurements must be sharp, this is not the time to make some turns. For me, these privileges for the vaccinated seem like child’s play: “If you eat chocolate, I’ll take you to the park.” They are very serious things. Every day, we record thousands of new cases of infection, says Dr. Gligić, adding that she is not clear on how to control who was revaccinated at all.

Dr. Gligić further notes that “no vaccine protects 100 percent.”

– An infected person who has not been vaccinated can transmit the virus to the nasal mucosa, eyes or throat. Those vaccinated, as a rule, should not develop the disease, but the virus that entered such a humid environment will begin to multiply. The vaccinated person’s antibodies will quickly release the virus, but it will remain contagious to the environment for some time, says Dr. Gligić.

It should be recalled that the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesić, announced that the city authorities will offer incentives for vaccinated people starting next week. Last night, as a guest on RTS, Vesić said that Serbia should follow the example of Israel, which achieved fascinating results, as well as Great Britain and the United States.

– I think the time has come to analyze what has been done in Israel. Israel succeeded because, like us, it had the required number of vaccines, it had the flexibility of the health system, the centralization of vaccination, and a strong campaign. Also, they set up checkpoints wherever the citizens are, which we started. They also introduced stimulation for vaccinated people, he explained.

When it comes to stimulation, Vesić believes that, as a society, we must allow those who have been vaccinated to return to normal lives. – Starting next week, Belgrade will allow all those who have been fully vaccinated to buy tickets for theaters and festivals with a 30% discount – he announced.
