The former mayor of Novi Pazar, Nihat Biševac, was re-elected as the first man of that city. Biševac, holder of the “European Novi Pazar – Rasim Ljajić” list, in his first speech to the councilors, yesterday’s session, said that the doors of his office were open to all fellow citizens, it was published on the City Council website .
Biševac said that all major projects started, halted due to the corona virus, will be completed, but new ones will also be started, on improving community infrastructure, the economy, education, health, agriculture and social protection. .
He noted that Novi Pazar must become Sandzak’s development engine, adding that among other things, one of the priorities is solving the biggest communal problem that afflicts the people of Novi Pazar: energy.
He stated that it is unacceptable for citizens to continue heating with coal and fuel oil in the 21st century, and announced that a modern biomass heating plant would be built.
“We have already bought the land and we will carry out that project in the next few years,” Biševac said.
He points out that the budget increased significantly during his time in the city, and most of the money went to education, social benefits, agriculture and tourism. 27 councilors voted for the re-election of Biševac, from the list “For the European Novi Pazar – Rasim Ljajic” and from the list “Aleksandar Vučić, Ivica Dačić – For our children”.
The Novi Pazar City Assembly has 47 councilors and, in addition to the majority, consisting of these two lists, 11 councilors belong to the list “Academician Muamer Zukorlić – Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP) and 9 ASD councilors. Igor Novović (SNS) was elected deputy mayor. “
