Serbia has turned a circle, a year has passed and now we are in the third wave, which lasts longer, more precisely 173 days, and we have been monitoring the situation day by day – said Professor Petar Kocovic.

He explained that the number of newly infected people began to grow on December 14 and that “we deviated a little from a normal drop, and then a little more, so it all piled up.”

– The devil then took the joke and ended with winters and social gatherings. What we need to know and what has been shown around the world is that if growth is slight, so is decline, explained information technology professor Petar Kocovic, who with his team uses mathematical models and formulas to monitor the pandemic crown movement around. the world.

He added that this “sub-wave” lasts for about 45 days and is not over yet.

– It will take a little longer, so let’s go back to the situation of the 1,300 newly infected. We made the first mistakes on December 14, and then it accumulated, and on January 29 we saw the influence of wintering and harvesting – he explained.

About vaccination

The professor also pointed out that if we continue with the vaccination rate of 0.2 percent in the next 30 days, we will have 15 percent vaccinated, or more precisely, a total of around 30 percent, which is still small.

– There is still 60 percent that need to be vaccinated, we have a lot of room for action, we will see how the good weather will affect the number of new infections because an open space with many people is a place where the virus spreads. quickly – he said and continued:

– In Serbia, we are in 15% of those vaccinated, and the number of infected has been growing in the last month. We need to be vaccinated at least 50 percent to be more calm. We have 0.2 percent of those vaccinated daily, and up to that 50 percent we need another five or six months to be sure, said prof. Kočović as a guest on the Pink TV morning show.

He added that some citizens were careless after the first dose of the vaccine, they became infected, so now they cannot receive the second dose.

He also thinks that the measures over the weekend were not enough, but that he hopes the situation will ease a bit.
