The Democratic Party – who is the president – without decision of the authorities

The saga of who is the chairman of the Democratic Party has been going on for more than two months. Although the Ministry of State Administration and Local Autonomy was expected to issue a verdict until today, that did not happen.

Two and a half years ago, both candidates for the presidency of the Democratic Party were sitting next to each other. Then together they applauded Lutovac’s victory. At the end of September this year, the DS voted again and won the second. Or there was no vote, those who still run this party will tell you.

“The elections are called by the president of the Democratic Party or by an absolute majority in the Board of Directors. Nothing has happened,” says the president of the Democratic Party, Zoran Lutovac.

The Lečić do not listen to Lutovac, so they have waited two months for Branislav Lečić to enter the political party register as president of the DS. Exactly one month ago, they completed the required documentation and expected the procedure to be ready by December 6.

“We thought that the silence of the administration would make war on us, but it is obvious that right at the time the deadline expired, there was a reaction from the administration. Which means they want to kill us,” said Branislav Lecic, president of DS / expelled. Member of DS.

And precisely today, the new Minister of State Administration decided to announce herself. It says that the deadlines that appeared in the media are arbitrary, and that the process is completely transparent. But that still lasts.

“We are awaiting the date when we will receive additional documentation from Mr. Lutovac’s representative. Of course, we are working exclusively based on the facts, at this time we do not have enough facts to determine who he is or who can be a representative” State Minister Marija Obradovic said.

Zoran Lutovac explains to H1 that the minister was wrong and that it is not about amendments, but the first statement from him and the DS legal team. You will present the documentation, even if you believe in one meeting.

“The only solution may be to reject that request, because it is completely unfounded, there is no basis in what is written in the statute or in what happened in practice,” emphasizes Lutovac.

Branislav Lecic also believes in the same law, except that he interprets it in his own way.

“We must be registered in accordance with all legal norms. If there is a misunderstanding, then it must be a constitutional procedure that Lutovac can complain about because, as a follower of the president to the opposition throne, he wanted to conquer this party,” says Lecic.

The only thing that Lutovac and Lecic have in common, apart from the fact that they both believe they are the presidents of the DS, is that they think that this schism is in the best interest of the Serbian Progressive Party. The vice president of the same, who is also at the head of the ministry that will decide, rejects in advance any decision in the political line.

“My belonging to a foreign country will not result in the end result in any way,” Obradović said.

What are the new deadlines and additional procedures? The ministry told H1 that they will explain everything to us on Monday, because the weekend is a non-working day for them.
