Vladimir Lajović, a member of the non-governmental organization Montenegrin Orthodox Church disguised as a bishop, presented today on behalf of the organizers of the petition for amendments to the Law on Religious Freedom and on behalf of the “Diocese” of Podgorica-Duklja as a religious community, submitted a petition to the Ministry of Justice, Minorities and Human Rights, which was signed by more than 1,600 “believers and people of good will” in just two days, the diocese announced.
The Secretary of State of the Ministry and the associate of the Minister of Relations with Religious Communities orally explained to the petitioners the modifications to the Law prepared by the Ministry, explaining that the text of the Law is not yet final, that the opinions of all the religious communities and the Legislation Secretariat the final text of the bill that will be considered by the Government of Montenegro, “was announced from the Diocese of Podgorica-Duklja.
The delegation made up of Vladimir Lajović, MA, archbishop of the diocese, Hieromonk Antonija Miranović and Deacon Boris Popović, reiterated the opinion of the signatories that the existing Law is good, that it protects the national interests of Montenegro in the best way.
