Education Minister Branko Ruzic says that what is happening in the education system must be separated from what is happening in society.
– The numbers are growing, it does not mean that the number of infected people among education employees and among children is not growing – the numbers are statistically insignificant, but the system has a level to withstand the blow from outside – no of the educational system, because the educational system is not where the transmission of the virus is present at that high level – Ruzic points out.
The Crisis Staff is the reference for recommendations, the Government will make decisions and local self-government units when an emergency situation arises are obliged to inform the competent school administrations if they wish to go to online classes, explains the Minister.
– Schools are not closed, it is possible to connect, the idea of unifying AP Vojvodina calendars with the rest of Serbia in terms of holidays is mentioned, that holidays will be from December 21 to January 20 to cover all holidays, and we will make these days to find out, maybe today. We will also discuss the transition to online classes for high school students and kids in grades five through eight, Ruzic said.
As for kindergartens and lower grades of primary school, he added, “we must not forget that these children must be cared for by someone.”
