Pulmonologist Branimir Nestorović said it was important that the percentage of deaths from coronavirus decrease, compared to the beginning of the epidemic.
He said it was surprising that there were so few cases of the flu this year. As he stated for TV Prva, the percentage of cases of seasonal flu dropped by 96%.
“Sometimes the flu turns into a corona virus and people move less,” said Dr. Nestorović.
He said that it is good that the percentage of deaths has decreased in relation to the start of the epidemic throughout the north.
– I do not expect a catastrophe, it can hardly be worse than at the beginning – said the pulmonologist.
Nestorović reiterated that children can hardly get sick from the corona virus, especially those under 12 years of age.
– Young people can get sick, it is known, but the risk of complications of the disease is lower, they can have pneumonia, but not some thrombosis – he said.
As you said, herd immunity certainly exists, even in cross-over with other corona viruses.
– Little is said about Sweden, they made some mistakes, admitted the chief epidemiologist. They did not guard the nursing homes. However, now they have almost no epidemic, they have achieved herd immunity – said Dr. Nestorović.
