On September 24, 2020, at the Gradina junction, customs officials prevented an attempt to smuggle 14 bottles of original whiskey of different ages and brands bearing British excise stamps.
The offense was discovered when a “Mercedes Benz” car with English license plates arrived at the control line leaving the country.
A 39-year-old Bulgarian citizen traveled with him, who stated very decisively that he had nothing to report other than personal luggage.
However, it was reserved for a detailed examination, and it turned out to be a good evaluation later, because a complete collection of original whiskey was found in the trunk, under the bags with the cupboard.
The fact that the price of a specially designed bottle of whiskey is over 40,000 dinars shows that these are expensive drinks.
