On January 18, 2021, at the Gostun border crossing, customs agents discovered and prevented an attempted smuggling of some 2,700 tablets and vials of various veterinary drugs that a truck driver tried to smuggle.
The violation was discovered when a truck with license plates from Podgorica, driven by a 30-year-old Montenegrin citizen, was singled out for a detailed inspection upon leaving the country.
When asked by the customs officer, he said there was nothing to report, which turned out to be incorrect at the beginning of the check.
That is, in the cab of the truck, on the driver’s bed, were found six cardboard boxes full of medicines for animals.
It turned out to be 2,560 tablets of the drug used for the prevention and treatment of parasitic infections in dogs and cats and 112 bottles of skin solution, which is used in the treatment of cows, sheep and goats.
A foul procedure has been initiated against the trucker before the court, until the end of which the drugs for smuggled animals will be detained.
