The custody of Predrag Koluvija and the other defendants has been extended for another 60 days

BELGRADE- The special court of Belgrade extended the detention of the majority owner of the agricultural property “Jovanjica”, Predrag Koluvija, for another 60 days, who is accused of producing marijuana in an organized manner with associates on that property for subsequent sale.

Custody of the other defendants in this case was extended by an Aug. 31 court decision, court spokeswoman Tatjana Tešić specified for Tanjug.

Last week the preparatory hearing for this procedure ended, which was closed to the public in accordance with the law, and in which it was determined what evidence will be presented during the next trial, which is scheduled to begin on the 7th, 8th and 9th of October.

In addition to Koluvija, Sergej Mrdja, Vladan ?? are also accused. ivojinovic, Branislav Miljevic, Zdravko Milosevic, Stevan Holic, Vule Bojovic, Petar Zivanovic, Petar Hricaj and Boban Jovanovic.

Koluvija and the other defendants, except one who is a fugitive, have been in custody since their arrest in November 2019, and in early July, seven more suspects were arrested for being members of this group, including five workers from the MUP and BIA.

An investigation is underway against them.

A total of two suspects remain at large.

Following the arrest in November, it was announced that the police, on the orders of the prosecution, entered the “Jovanjica” farm near Stara Pazova and found an illegal laboratory for the production of marijuana under artificial conditions.

At that time, 649.4 kilograms of condemned marijuana and 65,581 stems of this narcotic were seized in the raw state, weighing almost four tons.
