Today an emergency situation was declared on the territory of the city of Požarevac due to the worsening of the epidemiological situation in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, as recommended by the city emergency headquarters.

According to the website of the Pozarevac City Council, the state of emergency and the mayor of Pozarevac, Sasa Pavlovic, declared the state of emergency due to the worsening of the epidemiological situation, risk assessment and the expected further spread of the infectious disease, as well such as the implementation of operational measures to protect the population.

According to data from the Pozarevac Public Health Institute, 995 patients were registered in the city from the beginning of the epidemic to November 23, reports B92.

Pozarevac is the third local autonomous government, out of a total of eight in the Braničevo district, to declare a state of emergency.
