THE CRISIS HEADQUARTERS STARTED AT 8 AM THE MEASURES ARE CONSIDERED BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS, the medical part is still against, THESE OPTIONS IN THE GAME

The new session of the Crisis Staff for the fight against the coronavirus began today at 8 am, and in addition to discussing the current epidemiological situation, it is expected that new measures will be adopted, as expected – relaxed.

Many expected it to happen in the previous session of the Crisis Staff, held on Friday, however, remember, everything remained closed last weekend, and only the measures related to culture were relaxed – it was decided that theaters, cinemas, museums and others Cultural institutions can work until 9 pm

In today’s session, it is convenient to make a final decision on whether to change the working hours of stores and businesses that close during the weekend, in accordance with current measures, while their working hours are limited to 17 hours during the weekend. workweek. And that’s pretty much everything grocery stores, drug stores, and gas stations aren’t.

Ease measures before the holidays?

As “Blic” has already written, today it should be on the table that the working hours of stores and shopping centers should be extended to 20:00 on weekdays and on weekends to 14 or 15 hours. For now, this is the most likely option of a new working hours following the possible relaxation of measures on the eve of the New Year holidays.

It is possible to extend working hours on the same principle and service activities such as hairdressers, estheticians and the like, but for now, longer working hours for catering facilities are not an option.

Dr. Kon: The medical part of the Headquarters is not for relief measures.

Epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon said yesterday as a guest on RTS that the medical side of the crisis staff is not to alleviate measures, but that the final decision has not yet been made.

He added that the potential of the virus is slowly diminishing, but that we must not allow the situation to get worse.

– The medical part of the Crisis Staff is not for relief measures, but we’ll see. Regarding the curfew, if it will be considered tomorrow, the medical part had a recommendation to restrict movement from 7 pm to 5 am, but for now it is not necessary. New Year’s Eve, as we are used to, is now unrealistic, it would be a catastrophic situation if it really happened – Kon pointed out yesterday.

A spear broke between the two streams of the Staff of Crisis.

The discussion about the possible liberalization of certain measures was in the public spotlight last week, especially due to the fact that the deadline set to restrict catering work and most commercial facilities at 5 pm expired on Friday, and they were completely forbidden to work on weekends.

Even then, the medical side of the crisis staff strongly opposed easing the measures.

– Crisis Staff sessions are not pleasant at all. Some protect the economy, others the health. The medical aspect is completely different from the political one, and I don’t see that it is possible to be different at all. It is a natural position. It turns out: We’ll see – said Dr. Predrag Kon last week.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Marko Čadež, spoke about the definition of defining measures, which was said to be the key period for many activities, two weeks before the New Year.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, is in favor of easing the measures, but on one condition.

– If the numbers keep going down, and that depends on each one of us, I think we can let those people work at least on weekends until 2 pm, 3 pm – he said six days ago and added:

“In Crisis Staff, I talked about whether everything should be closed and forbidden, or that some places that do not have such a high risk of contagion, such as small hairdressing salons where the hairdresser wears a mask and the client wears a mask so that they judge . they work because they have to hug their families ”.

“Holidays present a huge risk of rapid deterioration”

The director of the World Health Organization office in Serbia, Marijan Ivanuša, warned yesterday that if the New Year is celebrated in the usual way, the consequences could be terrifying, but says that the situation in the country is expected normalize in 2021.

He called on citizens not to relax during vacations, highlighting that vacations represent an exceptional risk for the rapid deterioration of the epidemiological situation, which, as he emphasized, is already extremely serious.

Seven to 10 days after the New Year, the results can be overwhelming

– So if the New Year is celebrated in Serbia in the usual way, seven to ten days after the New Year, we will have results that will certainly not be favorable and can be scary – said Ivanuša.

Dr. Kon also spoke on this topic yesterday, emphasizing that it is “clear to all” how it should be celebrated.

– As regards the celebration of the New Year, it is clear to everyone, as well as to Saint Nicholas, the appeal therefore seems excessive. We must endure, not give in – concluded Dr. Kon.

Tighter measures to enter Serbia

Let us remind you that the measure that went into effect last night at midnight, instead of Saturday night, is that foreigners can enter Serbia only with a negative PCR test no longer than 48 hours, while our citizens must have a quarantine ten days, which can be discontinued after the person received a negative PCR test. That is why our people are recommended to come with this test or do it eight times upon arrival.

Branislav Tiodorović told those who come to Serbia to behave as in the countries where they come from, Austria, Germany, where very strict measures are in force.

– With regard to waiting at the border, the situation is exactly the same as in previous years when there were no kovids – he told TV Prva.

He pointed out that the medical part of the Crisis Staff advocated that the test to enter the country be introduced earlier.

As Predrag Kon said yesterday, at the moment, crowds at the borders are common, there are significantly fewer from Germany and Austria, and the arrest is a consequence of exhaustive data entry.

He added that if we evaluate what is happening, something that is not happening is not happening at this time of year. According to him, the PCR test is important to know that everyone who enters the country is not contagious, and if they do not have the test they must be quarantined, and that’s it.
