As Nova.rs has learned, no agreement has been reached between the members of the UOPS on cooperation with the opposition parties that went to the polls, so the SAA of Dragan Ilas and the DS will independently draft the text of the request and offer cooperation to the Free Citizens Movement. It is not excluded that the ZZS Neboje Zelenovia and the Movement for Change join them in this.
After the split between the SAA of Dragan Ilas and the National Assembly of Vuk Jeremiah in the Assembly of Belgrade, new divisions occurred within the United Opposition of Serbia. In other words, the members of the UOPS were unable to agree on the issue of cooperation in electoral conditions with the parties that participated in the elections. Vuk Jeremiah’s People’s Party, Civic Platform, Umadian Region and Slobodan Samaradi’s Dravo Movement are against any cooperation with parties that did not boycott the elections.
On the other hand, the DS, the SAA and the Movement for Change believe that Europeans must confront common demands.
The UOPS Nova.rs interlocutor claims that all attempts to find a compromise were unsuccessful.
“DS made a proposal for UOPS to make a request and send it to everyone to give their suggestions and come up with a joint text, but the first group did not accept it. His proposal is that UOPS compile the text and that the others, if they want, they undermine it without the possibility of modifying it. The DS and the SAA did not accept that, so the UOPS will not have its own text, “says the source.
According to the information, the DS and the SAA will independently begin to draft a text on the electoral conditions and will offer cooperation to the Free Citizens Movement. It is not ruled out that they will begin to write the application during the next week, that they will be joined by PSG, and then leave with a joint role.
The source of that portal states that both PZP and Neboja Zelenovi could participate in that.
This development of events could be expected to some extent. The leader of the Popular Party, Vuk Jeremi, does not hide that he does not want to cooperate with the parties that participated in the elections, stating that they are not the “true opposition”.
“The objective criterion of who the real opposition is is to participate in the June 21 elections. “Those who went to the polls to help the Vuije regime collect signatures cannot qualify as the true opposition,” Jeremi said yesterday.
Divisions within UOPS also took their formal form in the Belgrade City Assembly, following the decision of the SAA of Dragan Ilas to form a separate councilors’ club with the union Sloga and the Movement for Change. The Popular Party previously announced the same, but surrendered.
The split in the Belgrade parliament came after they failed to agree on rules of procedure for the group’s joint councilors.
