The number of new cases of the corona virus has once again broken a record since the start of the pandemic, Belgrade continues to be marked as the main focus, and the Crisis Staff warns to respect the recommended preventive measures, so that the figures do not become even more dramatic events in the next few days.
Not only is the number of patients worrisome, which in the last 24 hours amounts to 579 new cases, but the so-called “Kon coefficient” is also increasing significantly. He was yesterday 7.05 percent, and it was highest only on July 12, when it was 7.09 percent. Here, we cannot take into account the “Kon coefficient” of March 24, when it was above 60%, but then significantly less were tested.
Should we be worried?
How serious the situation is is demonstrated by the fact that this figure barely exceeded four percent in the middle of the second wave, while on October 19 this figure soared, when it rose to a worrying 6.43 percent and has been steadily increasing since then.
The importance of this indicator was pointed out by Dr. Predrag Kon at the beginning of the fight against the coronavirus, and as he once explained, “it can be said that the epidemic is under control, even dying out, when this coefficient is below 0 5 percent, that is, when only one in 200 of all tests is positive. “
Unfortunately, based on the latest data, we are out of this safe amount, as we have passed the critical five percent figure.
If we take into account the last days, it is noted that the so-called “Kon coefficient” below three percent was last recorded on October 13, and then it was 2.12.
In the days that followed, it ranged from three to four percent, and is now just slightly lower than the infamous record set in July. It was higher at the beginning of the epidemic, but it should be noted that significantly fewer patients were tested at that time.
This drastic increase in the number should certainly be a warning and a warning for us to respect the prescribed epidemiological measures.
How important is the Kon coefficient?
At the end of the first wave of the coronavirus, Dr. Predrag Kon said “that we will be able to talk about lifting the state of emergency and lifting restrictive measures when this number drops below five percent.” On the other hand, the hardening moment of the measurements is when the “Kon coefficient” reaches a value greater than two.
