The United States Army is looking for a new self-propelled artillery platform to equip its highly mobile brigades, currently using M777 tow howitzers.
According to the well-known The Drive magazine, in The War Zone section, companies from Israel, Sweden, USA AND – Serbia are competing to strengthen these US Army units!
Will the United States buy “Alexandra”?
Manufacturers from the aforementioned countries will participate in combat shooting at the military training ground in Yuma, Arizona) early next year.
According to the War zone portal, the Serbian company Jugoimport, through its US partner Global Military Products (GMP), will send the latest version of the Nora B-52 155mm self-propelled howitzer, developed by the Belgrade Military Technical Institute at the beginning of 2000- them.

“Alexander”, as the latest version of the Nora B-52 system introduced in 2017, has multiple improvements, including computerized fire control, a car charger with a 12-round magazine, as well as space to store another 24 grenades in the truck. “Alexander” has a completely redesigned windshield, and all existing versions of the Nora B-52 use a modified 8×8 truck chassis from FAP.
The speed at which “Aleksandar” fires is 6 grenades per minute, which is faster than “Nora”. The new howitzer comes complete with a command and reconnaissance vehicle and quickly leaves position, using a “hit and run” tactic. “Alexander” is absolutely automated, so the transition time from gear position to combat position is significantly reduced, and it only takes 60 seconds from the moment of stopping to firing the first rocket!
By the way, the international military-technical profession classifies our military industry as quite strong when it comes to technological capacity for the production of long-range artillery weapons (self-propelled howitzers, multi-barreled rocket launchers and tactical-operational missile systems. ).
What especially attracts international buyers of stamped artillery weapons (Made in Serbia) is their quality but also their competitiveness in terms of price.
