Dacic described today’s symbolic inauguration of the United States Finance Corporation for International Development (DFC) office in Belgrade as “a great event that shows that the United States is thinking seriously.”
“Today’s event marks the beginning of the implementation of the economic part of the Washington agreement on September 4. This shows that the agreement is not just a pre-election stunt before the US presidential elections (November 3)”, Dacic said.
He said that for the first time in many years, the highest Serbian officials had no fear of the arrival of the US government delegation in Belgrade.
“It also shows the need to strengthen the political relations between Serbia and the United States and the need to discuss some strategic partnership in the future,” Dacic said.
The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, and the Executive Director of the DFC, Adam Bohler, today symbolically inaugurated the office of that American financial corporation in Belgrade, after a meeting of the highest Serbian officials and a delegation of the American government.
The US President’s special envoy for the Serbia-Kosovo negotiations, Richard Grenell, said after the meeting that the US is serious about turning the promises made to Belgrade and Pristina into new jobs, while Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the country in which Americans want to invest has a future. .
A delegation from the United States government arrived in Belgrade to implement the Washington agreement between the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo on the normalization of economic relations. The leaders of Serbia and Kosovo signed different versions of the “Economic Normalization” document on September 4 at the White House, differing only on the last of the 16 points.
