The Makiš construction plan was adopted with 61 votes in favor and two votes by the councilors of the Civic Democratic Forum against, H1 reported.

On the eve of the session, opponents of this project gathered in front of the Sava Center, and some participants tried to enter the room where the session was held, in which they were prevented by members of the security system.

Vesić: Adoption of the detailed regulatory plan for Makiško polje, commencement of construction of the metro in Belgrade

Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić previously said that the decision would allow the city of Belgrade to issue a building permit for the construction of a depot at the end of next year and, at the same time, the start of construction of the metro in the capital.

“We have been waiting 50 years for this news, more precisely, on December 4, 1971, the first metro to Belgrade was promised. In these 50 years, Belgrade has not gone beyond the idea. The construction of the metro will begin next year, which will be completed in 2028 ”, specified Vesić, according to the Information Secretariat of the City of Belgrade.

He noted that the adoption of the Detailed Regulation Plan for Makiško polje means that Belgrade will have one meter.

“The councilors who will vote for this plan today are voting for history. “They are voting for our city to solve the traffic problems and for the rail system to become the dominant mode of transport in the city,” Vesić said.

He recalled that the construction of the reservoir in Makiško polje is located in the zone of greatest protection of the water source and the space in which construction was allowed, which, as he emphasized, was confirmed by the study of the Institute “Jaroslav Černi” .

He also added that in 1956, 70 kilometers of rails, 174 switches and a train depot were built on the same site. As he said, blocks 44, 45 and 70 in New Belgrade are also in the area of greatest protection of water sources.

“With regard to all measures, said construction did not affect the quality of drinking water. The new false story, which was published in recent days about the water supply in danger, aims to prevent Belgrade from getting a metro, “noted Vesić and asked the councilors to support the adoption of the Detailed Regulation Plan for Makiško polje in today’s session of the City Assembly.

Several dozen protesters, who oppose the construction of Makiško polje because they believe it will endanger Belgrade’s water supply, managed to break into the corridor of the Sava Center, where the city parliament session is taking place. , where the plan is discussed.

Nikodijevic: False dilemma that water sources will be in danger

The President of the City Assembly, Nikola Nikodijević, stated that the false dilemma is that by adopting the plan for Makiško polje, the water sources will be in danger, considering that the relevant institutions have given their opinion and conditions on that plan.

“And just as each plan is adopted according to a certain procedure, this is also the case this time. In the Makiško polje part, there is a shunting yard with 48 tracks and 70 kilometers of railway for several decades, and that is the part that the General Plan foresees for urbanization since 1974. It is not the part that is on the right side of the Obrenovac road towards the Sava river and which is a water source, but the left part of Makiško polje. Now we are practically working on something that someone predicted long before us, and there is no possibility of endangering the water source, nor does it occur to anyone to endanger the water supply to the people of Belgrade. We work as prescribed. for the profession and as long as we do, we will work responsibly and in the interest of the citizens of Belgrade, “Nikodijevic told Studio B, according to the Information Secretariat of the City of Belgrade.

He recalled that as a result of the plans adopted so far, new construction sites, investments and infrastructure will emerge.

“Belgrade now has 1,100 construction sites, there are thousands of cranes throughout Belgrade, everything is going according to plan.” The coverage of the plans in our city is higher than 70 percent, which did not happen until five years ago. Much is being invested in Belgrade, it changes its appearance every day and becomes a modern European capital, and at the beginning of the construction of the Belgrade metro, we will finally be among the modern and developed cities, which the people of Belgrade certainly deserve. “Nikodijevic said.
