BELGRADE – Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić declared that Belgrade is the first local self-government in Serbia to submit the draft budget to the vote of the citizens, which can be found on the website of the City Assembly.
He indicated that the citizens of the capital will be able to vote from November 14 to 28 and give suggestions on what to allocate the funds from the city budget, which, he specified, will amount to one thousand and 65 million euros next year.
It is important that citizens get involved in the budget, because that money belongs to them. We will consider all proposals and everyone will get an answer. In this way, citizens will be able to propose new parks, kindergartens or schools, health centers, playgrounds and whatever they think is important to do in their area, ”said Vesić.
He added that some proposals will be included immediately in the budget, others will be included in the design plan to be carried out in the future, while proposals for which the City Council is not competent will be forwarded to other institutions.
“We will announce what we have accepted from the citizens’ proposal, and they will know exactly how much they influenced this budget,” Vesić told Studio B, according to a statement from the City Administration.
He noted that, thanks to this budget, the construction of the metro, the extension of the BG train to Surcin and Obrenovac, the completion of the bypass around Belgrade, the purchase of 110 new gas buses and the construction of 11 new kindergartens will begin. .
“We have already started working in the ‘Milan Zakić’ kindergarten in the municipality of Čukarica, then in Zemun, in Bežanijska kosa, Block 62 and Belo polje in Obrenovac. Now we are working in kindergartens in Mladenovac, Miljakovac 3, Borča and Braće Jerković, “he said. Vesić.

“We are building an overpass in Batajnica so that citizens can cross the railway. An internal bypass will be built from the ‘Lasta’ circuit to the bridge in Ada,” Vesić said.
Among other things, he indicated that the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Veliko Selo will begin.
“We are dumping a fecal volume of 60,000 Olympic swimming pools into the Sava and the Danube. When that factory is finished, we will have about 80 percent of the direct outlets abolished,” Vesić said.
He said they will work on building a sewage system on the left bank of the Danube, with a sewage treatment plant, adding that a sewage treatment plant is currently being built in Medjulužje and Beli Potok, as well as a sewer system in Jajinci.
He added that the “Lázaro Cárdenas” walk, which cost three million euros, is coming to an end in New Belgrade.
