The trial of Dejan Stanojevic, the driver of “Serbian Corridor” director Zoran Babic, who is accused of hitting a vehicle parked at the Doljevac toll ramp with an official car on January 31 last year, killed Stanika Gligorijevic (52). ), while five people were slightly and seriously injured.

The first testimony was given by a witness who was working on the now-withdrawn Doljevac toll ramp that morning when the accident occurred as a cashier. He said he couldn’t recognize the driver.

He says he was of a larger build, dark complexion and black jacket, and at the request of the judge to compare the driver he saw with the defendant Dejan Stanojevic, who was present at the hearing, said it could be of his complexion.

He claims that he did not go near the cars that were involved in the accident and that he did not see who was sitting in the back seat of the “Skoda”.

The trial is also attended by the sister of the late Stanika Gligorijevic, the lawyer for the injured, Bozo Prelevic, and the legal representatives of the accused driver of the “Corridor”.

Then his colleague testified, who on the fateful day approached the cars and the participants in the accident, he said, to help in case there were any injuries.

He also testified that the driver of Zoran Babić’s car had black hair and a black jacket. The judge picked up defendant Dejan, and when asked by the judge if he could recognize the person he saw at the wheel at the time, the witness said, “I think so.”

In the continuation of today’s main trial, another witness must be questioned, as well as a representative of the expert commission.

At the previous hearing, on August 20, the forensic expert Stevan Todorović was examined, who examined Stanojević’s injuries, recalls the Beta agency.

Four surveillance camera images of the Doljevac toll ramp were also shown, one of which shows the events at the time of the accident, and is interrupted for two minutes, so that the moment Babić’s official vehicle crashes into another vehicle is not visible.

At the first hearing, held on November 22 last year, Stanojevic partially admitted responsibility for driving fast, but also claimed that the accident occurred due to the slippery road and the visibility reduced by the fog.

According to the official version of the Nis General Prosecutor’s Office, Stanojevic was driving the official car and Babic, according to his own statement in the investigation, “slept in the back seat.”

The Beta agency recalls that unofficial sources, in some media and on social networks, assured that Stanojevic was not at the wheel of the official car, but Babic.
