A gruesome video broadcast by world media shows the moment when a man in Rhode Island kidnaps a girl (9), just seconds after she got off the school bus.
The video shows the girl walking towards the house when Luis Martínez-Romero (34) got out of the vehicle and approached her from behind, reports the “New York Post”. It all happened on Monday afternoon.
The video from the surveillance camera shows how the man, who wears a mask on his face, grabs the girl and places her in the back seat of the vehicle. Then he left the scene with her.
The girl was found after about an hour, police announced. The kidnapper was arrested Tuesday and charged with child abduction and sexual assault, media reported.
He is in custody and has been denied bail. The police stated that the defendant did not know the girl, writes “Kurir”.
After this event, the schools also made themselves known. The statement said that school bus drivers do not drop off children under the age of eight unless an adult is waiting for them at the station.
