The terrible fate of the girls from the cafe “Luna PP zvezda” in Majur near Šabac has been the main issue in that town for days, following the arrest of restaurant owner Velimir G. (57) and his wife Estera G. (49 ).

As “Blic” learned from a source informed in the investigation, it is suspected that the owners forced the girls to have sexual services. That they were true sex slaves is also confirmed by the horrific research data that they had several hundred clients a month.

– Prostitution and illegal jobs in that cafe have been going on for a long time. Apparently there were well-known people among the clients, entrepreneurs that everyone knows, and who brought business partners there. The price of the service was between 70 and 100 euros, and more – “Blic” was said.

On the night from Friday to Saturday, members of the unit of the Belgrade Criminal Police Directorate broke into “Luna” (ex Zlatna greda) and “in action” found four girls aged 18 to 25 with three clients. The action was led by the Šabac Superior Prosecutor’s Office, which, in collaboration with the local Police Administration, investigated the case for more than two months.

The owner of the facility, Velimir G. (57), his wife Esther G. (49), a Romanian national, and his assistant NO (41) from Vladimirac were arrested. All are accused of the crime of trafficking in persons, for which they are threatened with a sentence of five to 12 years in prison.

A tavern that was used as a breeding ground for prostitution

As the Prosecutor’s Office has informed us, the three defended themselves in silence at the hearing before the Superior Public Ministry, after which they were ordered to be arrested.

They are suspected of human trafficking, that is, they abused the poor financial situation of their victims and forced them to perform sexual services.

The prosecution, in cooperation with the local police, became aware of the arrest of the suspects, but the UKP also provided significant assistance.

So far the identity of the people found with the girls is unknown, or what they told the police. In all likelihood, they could serve as so-called good witnesses, which investigators avoid prosecution in exchange for valuable information.

– There was a queue at “Luna”, and since the prohibitions of work by crown were introduced, only those who were announced to the owners came. Two-thirds of the clients kept coming back, and there were also those who fell in love, because the “love sellers” are real beauties – says the interlocutor of the investigation, who insists on anonymity.

– That the girls were slaves is not a question of anything, if it is known that they had five to seven visits during the day. Hundreds of people went through the bed of only one girl a month. It’s horrible when you have a daughter of those years, so you see what these young women have suffered – said the interlocutor of “Novosti”.

And the owners of the facility, Velimir and Esther, have two daughters just slightly younger, who are studying somewhere.

– Esther, or Madame Stella, took charge of the health of the girls recruited for prostitution. They are very careful and treat them like expensive machines, which they were, because the profits are really huge. When the case is viewed from this gloomy side, only then does it become clear how serious exploitation it is – says the interlocutor of the investigation.

The locals “know nothing”

The residents of Majura are reluctant to speak about the events at the tavern. They say that the owners have been found to have a lot of money, but that “it doesn’t matter” where that wealth comes from.

– They seemed to make a lot of money. When they did the celebrations it was not taken into account how much they would spend. It seemed they had a lot and wasting money – one of the neighbors who did not want to be identified told “Blic”.
