The Alliance for Serbia (SzS) announced that there would be no elections for the Serbian opposition on June 21, and announced that it would not recognize the results of that vote, nor the government thus formed.
“We consider the non-free elections to be a violation of constitutional order and we will not recognize their results. We will not recognize the government formed on the basis of those elections,” the SZS said in a statement.
The alliance added that there are no minimum conditions for free elections due to the epidemic, and that holding them on June 21 would not be healthy because it would endanger the health of the entire nation.
“The media darkness has never been deeper. The state of emergency time, introduced unconstitutionally, was used for unprecedented propaganda and repression of the electoral regime. After that, the Serbian Parliament voted unconstitutional changes to electoral laws that electoral conditions change during the electoral process. ” is added in the statement.
The SZS called for the unity of the opposition, intellectuals and all citizens in the boycott of the elections on June 21, and called on them to jointly demand free and fair elections and free media.
