“The contract with the Swedish army is in order, the first truck with military boots will start this week, and after that, in January and February, we will continue with deliveries. These are jobs that are important to our reputation as a manufacturer,” he said Ilic.

“We have completed the delivery for the Finnish Army and we will continue with deliveries next year. Our large customers have already confirmed orders for next year and I think we will also have continuity in work next year. We produce a special version of military boots for the Swedish army “. to withstand temperatures of up to 40 degrees below zero and are adapted to the skis used by soldiers in those countries, “added Ilic.

The Pirot company, which survived thanks to the selfless help of the state, is facing privatization and currently employs 1,250 workers working at full capacity.

Today, Tigar AD celebrates 85 years of work, and on that occasion the most successful workers were awarded.

Pirot Mayor Vladan Vasić said that this company, which is very important for the city, emerged from the crisis thanks to the support of the Serbian Government, the relevant ministries and other actors.

“Privatization will continue, but I hope that with the cooperation of all relevant factors, we will find a solution that is also good for our city, considering that a large number of our fellow citizens work here,” Vasic said.

The Independent Union leader at the factory, Slobodan Petrović, said that the last eight years have been very difficult for this Pirot factory, considering the challenges everyone has faced.

“This union has never resorted to strikes, threats, blackmail, but through negotiations, conversations, through understanding, with the support of the workers, we have justified the confidence indicated, that is why today Tigar is taking great steps forward. We expect privatizations that we believe will be successful. We have no doubt given the exceptional support of the Serbian Government and ministries so far, “Petrovic said.
