The Negotino High Court has suspended the investigation against Maja Badjikic (26), who was accused by the Superior Prosecutor’s Office there for the fact that she killed Raja Kazimirovic (72), her mother Dragica (93) in co-authorship with Davor Pernic ( 36) in August of last year. sister Ljubinka Oprikić (76) and daughter Dragana Jozeljić (53).

The prosecution confirmed that the court rejected the accusation against the accused Maja Badjikić, although there is evidence against her indicating that she was at the crime scene.

The court assessed that the evidence was contradictory, referring to the fact that she had an alibi for August 7, although the accusation does not indicate the exact date on which the family was murdered, but rather that the crime was committed between 7 and 9 of August. They also ignored it. the fact that the murder of Raja Kazimirovic’s relatives was committed with two weapons, and that cigarette butts with the DNA of the defendant Badjikic were found at the crime scene, ” the Superior Prosecutor’s Office in Negotin told ‘Blic’ and He added that they appealed to the Court of Appeals.

“The court found that the evidence offered by the prosecution, which indicates the suspicion that Maja was an accomplice of Davor Pernić, was not sufficient for her to appear before the Grand Chamber in the main trial. Given that Davor pointed this out in his defense., that cigarette butts containing Maja’s DNA were found in a wider area, as well as that they were undoubtedly fired with two different weapons, the Prosecutor’s Office filed an appeal finding that at this stage of the procedure the court could not rule on the rejection “, emphasizes the Prosecutor’s Office.

The decision to suspend the investigation against Maja Badjikic is not the first decision of the Superior Court of Negotino in these proceedings, which was appealed by the Superior Public Ministry.

That is to say, this summer, more precisely in August, the court rejected the proposal of the prosecution, after presenting a new amended accusation, to arrest Badjikic again and order her arrest, stating that she is suspected of a crime punishable by up to 40 years prison, but and due to public disturbances.

After the Negotino High Court rejected that proposal, the prosecution sent an appeal to the Nis Court of Appeal. The Superior Court ordered the Superior Court of Negotiation to reopen the process and examine the reasons for requesting his preventive detention. The court upheld the earlier decision and later decided to suspend the investigation against Maja Badjikic.

Maja Badjikic was arrested in September 2019, after suspect Davor Pernic mentioned him as an assistant to the prosecutor. Pernic was arrested on August 25, confessed to the crime, specifying that he killed the victims on August 7 around 11 a.m., and even showed where he buried an arsenal of weapons on his father’s property: a “scorpion,” a hunting rifle and a pistol.

He spent the first month of his arrest to be able to change his statement and connect Maja Badjikic with the crime, with whom he had had an emotional relationship before.

He claimed that she participated in the crime, on August 7, but not before noon, but at dawn, and that she persuaded him to do everything.

At the time he testified before the prosecutor, Badjikic was in Austria with his son and his wife, but returned to Serbia for questioning.

The prosecution denied that she had anything to do with the crime, but admitted that she was in a relationship with him because, she claimed, she was afraid of him and threatened to harm her loved ones.

At that time, no material evidence placed her at the crime scene, only Pernić’s statement.

She was in custody for three months, during which time she and Pernić were neuropsychiatrically examined and it was determined that they were not insane.

Analysis of the weapon with which Raja and his closest relatives are believed to have been killed found only biological traces of Pernić, not Maja.

Witnesses were also questioned who stated that at the time that, according to Pernić’s complaint, Kazimorović and his closest relatives were killed, Maja Bađikić was with her parents in the village of Dupljane.

She was detained for three months. After his release from custody, cigarette butts were found in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene on December 30 last year and January 24 this year, and experience showed that his DNA was on them.

Soon, in February, an accusation was brought against both, Pernić is a suspect in the crime, while Badjikić is accused of complicity.

They were both reportedly killed on the farm: Pernić was suspected of killing Dragica Kazimirović and Ljubinka Oprikić, Maja Draganija Jozeljić and Raja Kazimirović.

However, a month later, the High Court returned the amendment and ordered to determine the age of the cigarette butts in which Maja Badjikić’s DNA was found.

The money from Velja Vrasna’s property, more precisely most of it, was not taken by the suspect Pernić, but was appropriated by forensic technician Miljan N. That is, after the funeral, Raj’s son Nenad found the money in the basement and disposed of it for the police. The money was deposited in a safe at the police station, but was taken by Miljan N., allegedly to pay his wife’s debts. He admitted that he stole 8,040 euros and 256,000 dinars from the safe. He reached a plea agreement with the prosecution, which was accepted by the court, and was sentenced to one year of house arrest with electronic surveillance and, after the verdict was delivered, his employment with the Serbian Ministry of the Interior was terminated.
