They demand that tuition fees at all colleges be reduced by 30 percent.
The representative of the initiative, Nikola Arsić, told reporters that, in addition to the students, their parents are also signatories to the petition.
He said that this is a rational request and explained it by saying that according to financial reports, many colleges are in surplus and can meet the needs of students.
He said that in addition to the request for reduction of tuition fees, they had submitted another request for a meeting with Minister Mladen Šarčević to the office of the Ministry of Education.
“We sent 3,000 emails to the Minister of Education with a meeting request. As he claims he did not receive it, we will show them to him as soon as we have the opportunity to meet,” Arsić said.
Kristina Milošević emphasized that the students are not begging, but that it is a fair request.
She read the emails of the students that they receive every day, that their parents lost their jobs, to live on a single salary.
