Students rallying around the initiative to reduce tuition fees by 30 percent announced at the end of tonight’s protest that they will blockade the Ministry of Education building for three hours on Monday if their request is not met.
They ended the protest march in front of that ministry, where they said “they want to show how many there are.”
Before the start of the protest march, academic professor Vladica Cvetković told those gathered in front of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade that their demands have a reason and that students have the right to request a reduction in tuition fees.
“My motive for supporting him is that there is some force in Serbia that is willing to shake something that is more carefully guarded in education in Serbia, and that is the form of funding,” Cvetković said.
One of the organizers, Nikola Arsenić, told NovaS that if there is no response to his request after today’s protest, the students will block Nemanjina street in Belgrade for three hours on Monday.
Before the walk began, students at the booth were collecting signatures to request a 30 percent tuition reduction.
